UK: Paying Attention To How Healthcare Workers Speak to and Treat Patients

Saw this on Huffington this morning:

This may not have a direct relation to ACEs, but it speaks to what I believe is growing awareness that the healthcare "industry" is waking up to the fact that many illnesses in adults are related to adverse childhood experiences.

On a side note, I learned in a conversation with a friend that Mayo Clinic is now operating an Integrative Medicine unit where patients are being paid more attention, asked more "personal" questions about their life experiences, choices and lifestyles. That this is starting to happen in the allopathic environment is very encouraging.Β

Thanks for posting this, Mary. It's interesting that one of the goals was to have NHS staff "get their own house in order" because people find it difficult to take advice seriously from people who are obviously unhealthy. Β Β

Do you know where Mayo's Integrative Medicine clinic is operating?
