To the Editor:
We read “After PTSD, More Trauma” (Sunday Review, Jan. 18), by David J. Morris, a former Marine infantry officer, with concern. The Department of Veterans Affairs has long recognized access to care as a top priority for improving veteran services. Secretary Robert A. McDonald has challenged the V.A. to refocus and re-energize these efforts.
An increasingly broad range of effective treatment options are now available to veterans, but we fear that Mr. Morris’s account will make some veterans reluctant to seek help for post-traumatic stress disorder.
