An Op Ed in The Imprint (https://imprintnews.org/child-...aces-screening/47852 ) identifies three strategies that California could employ to reduce early childhood toxic stress and its developmental effects -- universal developmental screening by pediatricians; screening for social determinants of health; policy initiatives to diminish stress on households and increase their resources for raising children. These three strategies would work more directly than ACEs screening on the important problem of toxic stress among children that Surgeon General Harris has identified.
