What is a data-driven approach to preventing of childhood trauma?

I am often asked, "What is data-driven childhood trauma prevention work?" It's a very important question. As the developer of our non-profit's Resilience Leaders program, we are supporting communities in implementing a data-driven, cross-sector and systemic strategy for the prevention of trauma and maltreatment. We have just published the book Anna, Age Eight to provide to professionals from behavioral health care, public health, child welfare, education, youth development and early childhood learning an introduction to data leadership in the arena of preventing adverse childhood experiences, abuse and neglect.  We hope the book serves as a much-needed catalyst for dialogue and debate focused on getting to measurable and meaningful results for our most vulnerable children and families. Hi Dominic, I love what you're doing here. Exactly where the ACE and trauma-informed care field need to go. Less hunches, more data. Speaking of data,  I wanted to make sure you know about the Attitudes Related to Trauma-Informed Care (ARTIC) Scale that we developed in collaboration with Dr. Courtney Baker of Tulane.  In case you are not aware, it is one of the first psychometric measures of TIC and assess professional attitudes favorable or not toward TIC. It's been out 20 months and we are selling all over the world mostly because people recognize need to evaluation TIC interventions but there are no tools. For more info go http://traumaticstressinstitute.org/artic-scale/
