I'm no expert but the best way to be involved in addressing the issues of ACEs is to focus on telling as many people as possible in your own community about the importance of the ACE Study, and offer hope for healing. Be a representative for the ACE Study in the best ways that show up for you. Use this version of a mantra to empower yourself: "Thank you for giving me good work to do. Thank you for showing me how to do it. Thank you for giving me a good life to live. Thank you for showing me how to live it. Thank you for giving me good people to love. Thank you for showing me how to love them."
ACES is the beginning of addressing childhood abuse. I want to be a part of the solution. How can I become a greater part of this organization, to speak at churches, schools, shelters and any other organizations? To share my story of childhood abuse. I married a predator his chaos traumatized and diverted his deviant behavior that greatly impacted all our lives. I want to talk about who predators; pedophiles, child molesters, and rapist are. Oprah's words ring in my ears and in my heart...Don't ask, "What is wrong with you?" but ask, "What happened to you?" I've written my story, The Shadows in My Heart; A story that not only describes my traumatic childhood but more importantly the effects of my children and grandchildren.
