Here are another three responses from new members to a question about their interest in ACEs: Suzanne Schmidt, Nathan Epps and Karin White Tautfest. Some of the responses are shortened, so there's a link to their page to read more about them, friend them and/or send a message.
Suzanne Schmidt, Carlsbad, CA: Suzanne is an OB/GYN nurse practitioner with an at risk population of adolescents and young adults. In the 1970s, when she was a social worker, she worked with abused children.
Nathan Epps, Tallahassee, FL: Nathan works in the research and planning office at the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, which is "implementing many of the tenets of trauma-informed care."
Karin White Tautfest, Tacoma, WA: As deputy director at the YWCA in Pierce County, WA, Karin is responsible for its programs for survivors of domestic violence. She's used ACE concepts in helping women and children focus on building resilience and skills. Since 2007, the organization has participated in consortium of community parters to do ACE training for the community, and supports the implementation and expansion of trauma-sensitive school sites in Tacoma.
