Who are we? What's our interest in ACEs? Part 29

Lena Wieland, Kathy Hentcy, Nicole MacFarland, and Betty Devine joined ACEs Connection in April. Here's some info about each, and a link to their profile pages, where you can friend them, send a message, and see all their comments and activity on the network.

Lena Wieland, Hamburg, Germany -- Lena is a psychology student at Hamburg University. She's examining ACEs for her bachelor's thesis. Her main concern is to assess psychometric properties of the Germany version of the ACE questionnaire. Ingo Schäfer invited her to join the network for more information and to exchange information about the ACE Study with members.

Kathy Hentcy, East Hardwick, VT -- Kathy works for the state in chronic disease prevention. She's started a statewide network on untreated childhood trauma and chronic disease. A primary goal of the network is to get trauma screening into primary practice, with follow-up to ensure effective treatment is offered. She's also a childhood trauma survivor.

Nicole MacFarland, Albany, NY -- Nicole, a social worker, is clinical director of Senior Hope Counseling Inc., which is the only clinic in New York State that is integrating ACE concepts in serving older adults with substance abuse issues.

Betty Devine, Albany, NY -- Betty is a social worker with extensive experience in family and children services at the direct service, public policy, and research levels. She volunteers with the ACEs Think Tank at the SUNY Albany School of Social Welfare.
