Two studies published last year in Scientific Reports said that seeing or hearing birds could be good for our mental well-being.

So give them a listen as you learn why they may help.

Birds appear to be a specific source of these healing benefits. They are almost everywhere and provide a way to connect us to nature. And even if they are hidden in trees or in the underbrush, we can still revel in their songs.

Yes!!! I hope this spurs discussions about noise pollution. As a life-long city dweller now living rurally, I can now attest to how loud cities, even suburbs, are, and how soothing quiet and the sounds of nature are. Leaf blowers need to go, and I'm all for noise regulations on gas-powered vehicles/motorcycles, as well as factories located near homes. Hope to see articles on the deleterious effects of light pollution, too.
