WHYY's Maiken Scott gives an example of trauma-informed care in the Philadelphia area

Tim Clement recently posted the following in the Philadelphia ACEs Connection group here at acesconnection.com:

"Maiken Scott, Health and Science reporter of WHYY, wrote an article that highlights the increased understanding of ACEs in the Philadelphia area, including the shift towards trauma-informed care. Featured in the article is Father Jeff Puttoff and his Hopeworks youth program in Camden. The article also describes the goals and work of the Philadelphia ACE Task Force, which recently convened at the end of February."

As Maiken Scott notes in the article, Father Jeff Puttoff's youth program is one that is shifting its perspective when dealing with frustrations in achieving goals in the program, by posing a different question: "We're learning not to say to a youth 'why did you do that?'  We're trying to think about what happened to the youth."
