Wrestling Ghosts is a new documentary that follows the epic inner journey of a young mother who battles the traumas from her past in order to create a new present and future for her and her family.

It is one thing to learn about ACEs (adverse childhood experiences), yet it is a completely different thing to watch Kim Montleon, a young mother with an ACE score of 10 struggle over a two and a half year period with the long shadow that a high ACE score casts in practically every area of her life in the powerful new documentary Wrestling Ghosts.  I had the privilege to see this amazing film last night at it's LA Premiere in Santa Monica, California.

This documentary truly captures the essence of the day in, day out struggle of Kim's depression, anxiety and feelings of hopelessness.  It also goes into her struggle as a parent to find connection with her two young sons, finding a fulfilling career, as well as her struggle as a wife.

Kim is one example among millions of men, women and children who struggle on a daily basis as a result of experiencing the devastating fallout of ACEs resulting in childhood trauma.

This documentary also shows how Kim finally found the root cause of her suffering and struggles: The toxic stress of several adverse childhood experiences she endured causing her young developing brain, body and mind to be impacted, resulting in the many struggles that this documentary reveals.

The good news is that this film also features several professionals discussing ACEs science, as well as the many evidence based healing modalities that can help resolve or significantly improve the impact of a person's quality of life with a high ACE score.

It was such a privilege to watch Kim bravely undergo several healing sessions with a life coach, a somatic based psychotherapist, an emotional freedom technique (Aka EFT or Tapping) practitioner and a neurofeedback practitioner.

Kim's willingness to be vulnerable during these sessions was so powerful, and witnessing the amazing healing that came from her willingness to face her past was so palpable and inspirational!

This film is a MUST SEE for any trauma based professionals, trauma survivors as well as anyone who would like to understand what is very likely the root cause of our worlds most intractable problems: childhood trauma, and some real solutions to begin the healing journey!

It was an incredible honor to meet Kim and Matthew for the first time in the flesh. I don't think it dawned on me till the day of the premiere that both Kim and myself have a full 10 aces, plus tons of epigenetic, historical social stress, and trauma, not tracked by the original studies.

Anyway, my personal ACEs have guided my search for healing, both for myself and for the world, that led me to this potent healing powerhouse, called Emotional Freedom Techniques, or EFT Tapping. Attached is my own EFT story. The story of how I faced and integrated and overwhelming shock trauma that had haunted me for 45 years. The time it took for me to neutralize the sting of that memory was about 45 minutes. I have spent the past 11 years exploring what I learned in my first big breakthrough and teaching what I have learned to anyone who wants to learn from me or with me.

Thank you Mary for sharing this wonderful review about the movie. I treasured the opportunity to be at the premier showing with you and so many members of this wonderful community

What a powerful movie showing true authenticity as Kim and her husband Matt welcomed in the cameras to capture the journey of healing trauma.

I was in awe of all the cutting edge modalities that Kim was willing to try. It showed the journey, the ups and the downs, and her tenacious spirit.

A deep bow to Matt who was an amazing support to Kim as she put her heart and soul into her healing. I was so honored to get the chance to talk to both of them after the show. Matt said that this journey also had a huge impact on his life as well. He is so precious always singing her praises. However, we all know that trauma affects the entire family. Kim's healing is breaking the cycle and her courage will impact not only her life but the lives of so many people.

I am so excited for this movie to be shown all over the planet. It is such a testimony of HOPE!

Linda, it was so fun connecting with you and  all of the ACEs/trauma community at this amazing film premiere! I too was in awe of all the cutting edge modalities that were used to support Kim in healing her trauma.  Also, I loved how they did show how one person's trauma does effect the whole family and therefore everyone needs support in healing. Yes, Matt, Kim's husband showed amazing support to Kim, and modeled true secure attachment by being attuned, consistent and always there for her and his young boys.
