What happens when you put a bunch of Oregon changemakers in a room with an inspiration catalyst? It’s like building a bonfire in a fireworks stand!
Here at Social Venture Partners Portland, we are excited to be partnering with our friends at Prichard and PSU Impact Entrepreneurs to present Changemakers Night on Tuesday, May 19. This event will bring together Portland’s social innovation community for an evening of inspiration, ideas, and action. The program centers around presentations by three powerful changemakers who are creatively addressing some of our world’s most pressing problems.
Participants will be sparked to locate your home on the spectrum of social change, while networking with Portland thinkers, doers, philanthropists, social innovators, and business leaders.
Investing in Our Community
As a partnership of changemaking venture philanthropists, Social Venture Partners invests in community solutions to our most pressing social problems. For example, our current 10-year goal is to provide all children in the Portland metro area with the foundation for learning and life success so they are “Ready for Kindergarten.”
Bringing a National Conversation to Oregon
Given that, I am particularly eager to hear from featured speaker Jane Stevens. Stevens is a journalist and founder ofACES Too High and ACES Connection—online tools she developed to help address the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences, or “ACEs.”
