The theme of the conference this year is "The Power of HOPEGIVERS." In our roles as trainers, law enforcement officers, prosecutors, advocates, medical professionals, therapists, probation and parole officers, judges, policy makers, and faith leaders, we have an opportunity to instill hope in adult and child survivors of trauma. When survivors are experiencing hope, they can set and achieve goals for their future. Rising hope has meaningful and positive long-term impacts and often results from strong, supportive relationships with others. We each have the power and ability to change lives as hopegivers. However, we cannot give what we do not have which is why self-care is so crucial to each of us. Come take better care of yourself in Fort Worth while also learning and growing as a hopegiver!
In honor of all our attendees this year, and with the aim of promoting self-care, there are events sprinkled throughout our conference including a celebration benefitting One Safe Place, a tour of One Safe Place, and mindfulness mornings!

The International Family Justice Center Conference is the only national and international violence prevention conference focused on the development of multi-agency, multi-disciplinary teams in every community in America and around the world!
In 2018, the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) will host two tracks (with six workshops per track) of the conference – one on “Effective Handling of Non-Fatal Strangulation Cases” and the other on “Expanding Family Justice and Multi-Agency Centers.” The U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) will sponsor a track on “Working at the Intersections of Co-Occurring Trauma (Polyvictimization)” focused on the impact of multiple types of trauma (polyvictimization) and the complex challenges of working with polyvictims. In all workshops, we will share our lessons learned on how your community can move forward toward greater collaboration, co-located services approaches, and effective high risk teams - that can save lives and produce better short and long-term outcomes for survivors and their children. Other conference workshop tracks will include: “Trauma Informed Advocacy”; “Improving Law Enforcement Responses (DV/SA/CA)”; “Best Practices for Civil and Criminal Justice Professionals”; and "Camp HOPE America: Breaking the Cycle."
