This conference, sponsored by the Alliance for Children & Families, emphasizes: shared school-family-community agenda to bring high quality and evidence-based mental health promotion, prevention and intervention, to students and their families. Conference features more than 40 workshops and three general sessions.

Organizers recommend this conference for chief executives, senior leaders, and board members.

The conference will also feature four pre-conference workshops on Tuesday, Oct. 16, including:

Advancing Trauma-Informed Practices: Look Inside the National Institute for Trauma and Loss, which features presenters Caelan Kuban, director, National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children, Starr Commonwealth; Daniel J. Potterton, COO, FEI Behavioral Health; and William Steele, founder, National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children.

Applying Adverse Childhood Experiences Research to Policy and Practice, which features Dr. Robert Anda, co-founder of the CDC's ACE Study, with presenters Jody Becker-Green, senior director of planning, performance and accountability, Washington State Department of Social & Health Services; Dr. Sandra L. Bloom, distinguished fellow, The ANDRUS Sanctuary Institute; Brian J. Farragher, executive vice president and COO, ANDRUS; and Christine Gradert, senior vice president, Family Resources.

During the main conference, Heather Larkin, asst. professor at SUNY Albany, is leading a workshop called "A Community Response to Adverse Childhood Experiences: Whole-Person Support for Resilience and Recovery.
