Organized By: Coalition for Juvenile Justice

Join us as we celebrate CJJ's 30th Anniversary along with the 40th Anniversary of the JJDPA!

The conference, "Looking Back, Planning Ahead: A Vision for the Next 40 Years in Juvenile Justice," will focus on developing a vision for the next 40 years in juvenile justice. Specifically:

  • What are some of the lessons learned in terms of practices, policies and research on what works in juvenile justice since the initial passage of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act on September 7, 1974?
  • What are the implications of these lessons for the future for the field of juvenile justice?
  • What are some of the emerging or unanticipated issues in the field that field is grappling with?

There will be thematic workshop/training tracks, informative general sessions & plenaries, State Juvenile Justice Specialists & DMC Coordinator Business Meetings, the CJJ Council of SAGs' Meeting & Executive Board Elections, Regional & CJJ Committee Meetings, and much more! The conference immediately follows the OJJDP 2014 Core Requirements Training which runs June 17-18. Click here to view the draft agenda.

Hill Day and Training Webinar
CJJ hosted a webinar to help CJJ members prepare for this year's Hill Day. Hill Day is an annual chance for CJJ members to talk with their member of Congress about the importance of reauthorizing the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act, maintaining adequate funding levels for juvenile justice, and the many other key federal issues related to juvenile justice. Hill Day will take place this year on June 18. Please contact Naomi Smoot at smoot@juvjustice.org to access the recording of the Hill Day webinar.
