This innovative and highly acclaimed conference offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of gender-responsive and trauma-informed services.
The emphasis is on five research-based treatment interventions developed by Dr. Stephanie S. Covington. For the first 2 days, you learn one of five in-depth curricula for trauma, addiction, anger, and empowerment that are adapted for therapeutic groups of women, men or girls. On the last day, you will also learn a brief trauma intervention of your choice either: Exploring Trauma: A Brief Intervention For Men or Healing Trauma: A Brief Intervention For Women. These models are shorter with only 6-sessions and designed for short-term settings.
Although the emphasis is on your core curriculum, you will also be supported with additional gender-responsive and trauma-informed events with Dr. Covington, implementation tips, evening events and curricula, and networking with professionals from across the United States.
This 2.5 day conference is designed for counselors, therapists, clinical supervisors, correctional professionals, and program administrators as well as peer specialists, program directors, supervisors, school counselors, and social workers. Dr. Covington and her certified trainers will be available throughout the conference for additional guidance.
