8th Annual Psychological Trauma & Juvenile Justice: Impact on Mind, Body, Behavior and Community-Current Research and Practice Trends

The TIC Conference registration is now open. The conference this year is focused on Resilience.   Each day we will have two excellent speakers. Speaker highlights are below.  On Tuesday, June 5th, right after the conference we are having a special event “Passport to Pampering” in the East Village.  Self-care is a big part of resilience! CHRISTIAN MOORE, LCSW  is a renowned author, speaker, and licensed clinical social worker who consults with thousands of school districts on lowering drop-out rates, improving school climate, preventing bullying, and closing the achievement gap by teaching social and emotional education.  He will discuss that Resilience can be taught.

SAMUEL SIMMONS, JR., LADC has over 27-years experience as a behavioral consultant specializing in practical culturally sensitive trauma informed work with African American males and their families with a focus on addressing chemical dependency, interpersonal violence and historical trauma.  He will talk about trauma across generations and addressing the invisible wounds.

GEORGEANNE WISEN-VINCENT, LMFT, RPT-S is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor.  Her presentations will focus on Trauma Resiliency using collaborative play techniques with children toward prevention and recovery that anyone can utilize.

TIERICA BERRY is the founder of A Woman’s Standard program focused on helping young women create and achieve higher standards that improve the quality of their life overall. Focused on “emotional success” she has managed to motivate and redirect troubled youth with her engaging and relevant programs.  Her organization services various types of youth institutions from public school districts to youth detention centers.
