The Center for Youth Wellness is excited to announce our fourth ACEs Aware webinar on March 25 at Noon PT/3pm ET. This webinar will feature Simone Ippoliti, PNP, Site Director for the Bayview Child Health Center (BCHC), in conversation with CYW's Administrator of Clinical and Quality Operations, Karissa Luckett, RN, MSW. They will discuss BCHC's journey to screening for ACEs and how it's changed their relationship with their patients and the community.
Simone is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a global and community health focus, and provides primary care medical services to improve the health of children exposed to Adverse Childhood Experiences. She partners with behavioral health workers at Center for Youth Wellness to provide trauma-informed care and bridge access to integrated behavioral health. During her graduate studies, she established La Charla, a sexual health education and scholarship program in Nicaragua. Her research focus involves decreasing teen pregnancy through peer-led health education in Nicaragua.
Hearing a personal journey of screening for ACEs, with setbacks and all, can help provide some perspective on what it feels like to actually start this process in practice, and hopefully answer some questions along the way. The Bayview Child Health Center has been a crucial and enduring partner of the Center for Youth Wellness, and we're thrilled to be able to feature their amazing work.
