ACEs Tech Talk #1

Welcome to the first ACEs Tech Talk!

Time zone information: 9-10:45 PM CEST (3-4:45 PM EST, 12-13:45 PM PST) 

ACEs Tech Talks are recurring online events held by the ACEs Tech Task Force where we'll ideate and discuss the needs and ideas of the community on how to support people with ACEs, and the professionals helping them, with innovative technology.

The aim of the ACEs Tech Task Force is to rapidly build open source, open content smartphone and tablet apps and web-based systems that implement these ideas in close collaboration with the community.

It is key that the technology products we develop to support the community are well-designed and usable, so that we don't design and build stuff that nobody will really use, or that people will find too hard to use. That is why your involvement in the tech talks is paramount to the success of the community effort to build ACE technology.

Agenda

The agenda for the first meeting is as follows:

1. Introduction (15 min., Thomas)
   Background, current status, and short- and long-term goals of the ACEs Tech Task Force
2. An ACEs App and web-based online resources (30 min., Thomas)
   A whirlwind tour through perspectives on an ACEs smartphone app for in-situ support for people suffering from ACEs (possibly containing psychoeducational material, peer-support features, self-help material, self-ratings (feelings, energy levels, etc.), a diary, support from professionals, games, chatbots and AI, and more), and on web-based online resources for ACEs
3. The ACE Toolkit for professionals (20 min., Thomas)
   Thoughts and perspectives on building a toolkit for supporting professionals in their work with screening for ACEs and being able to easily, but securely, share the results with others
4. Discussion and ideation (45 min., everybody)
   We discuss and ideate on uses of technology to support the community, that will help form the basis of some of the projects that we will chose to undertake
