Organized By: Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs

The Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs is sponsoring this one-day workshop.

Incredible advancements in ACEs research have opened the door to understanding how these experiences shape the individual, drive high cost social problems, and become an extremely powerful determination of educational and health outcomes across one’s lifespan.  Washington State is the first in the nation to have detailed information about ACE prevalence and its relationship to mental, physical and behavioral health and other factors that affect worker performance, parenting, and the intergenerational transmission of trauma.  This training will provide the opportunity to learn, practice, and receive support for the most challenging situations.  You will learn:

  • What the newest brain research and epidemiology tells us about adverse childhood experiences and the developing child;
  • Typical patterns of physical, mental, and behavioral  outcomes for children and teens;
  • Strategies for increasing youth resiliency;
  • Self-Care and support; and
  • The importance of local partnerships to maximize success and sustainability
