American Academy of Pediatrics Legislative Conference

Conference Highlights

More than 2,300 pediatricians and other child health advocates throughout the nation have participated in this program.

The conference instills knowledge of the state and federal legislative process, helps participants develop advocacy skills, and introduces strategies and techniques for using the media to advocate.

Many past participants have become effective advocates at the national, state, chapter and local levels.

All conference participants will automatically become Key Contacts, a subset of American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) members who elect to receive timely legislative updates and requests for action from the AAP Department of Federal Affairs.

Now in its 23nd year, the conference is sponsored by the Academy’s Committee on Federal Government Affairs and the Committee on State Government Affairs.
