Cumulative exposure to traumatic events (Adverse Childhood Experiences, or ACEs) before the age of 18 can lead to poor mental and physical health, less success at school and work, and lower socioeconomic status in adulthood. ACE scores for Arizona children are among the highest in the country. At this news conference, leaders in health, education and child welfare will join members of the Arizona Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Consortium, to present findings of an Arizona survey that indicates links between these adverse childhood experience and poor health outcome.
Nicole Stanton, First Lady of Phoenix and president of Stop Bullying AZ. will moderate a panel discussion regarding the research findings and solutions for Arizona. Scheduled to participate:
