This workshop builds upon the foundation of information about the impact of trauma on young children provided in Part I. Part II moves from theory and science to application and practice, offering strategies for child-serving professionals caring for and working with children ages 0-5 who have experienced trauma. Part II uses a framework called CAPPD which stands for Calm, Attuned, Present, Predictable and Do not Escalate - based on five skills Dr. Bruce Perry has identified as being essential for caregivers to have when working with young children who have experienced trauma. The curriculum provides multiple opportunities for professionals to learn and practice the CAPPD skills.
