A recent New York Times article pointed to the “moral crisis” that American physicians are facing: “the corporatization of health care has changed the practice of medicine, causing many physicians to feel alienated from their work.” Transformation is needed to make health care systems and the interactions within those systems more relational and more humane. Like in other spaces, cycles of harm and trauma in health care can be broken when they are recognized and when the work needed to repair is done.
