People with mental health and substance use challenges are disproportionately represented in the criminal justice system and law enforcement settings. In addition, approximately 40% of incarcerated individuals have at least one chronic health condition, such as diabetes or hypertension. Partnerships between law enforcement agencies and integrated health care organizations help reduce these health disparities and improve access to whole person care among individuals involved in the justice system.
Join us on Tuesday, July 20 from 2-3 p.m. ET, for our webinar, “Integrated Care & Law Enforcement: Lessons Learned from Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs).” We will explore the initial findings of a research initiative that investigated the role of CCBHCs within law enforcement settings to address community-based mental health, physical health and crisis needs against a backdrop of racial inequities. Research findings, including barriers, successes and outcomes of partnerships will also be shared.
Interested in hearing about the types of partnerships between CCBHCs and law enforcement agencies? Join us for a follow-up office hour session on Thursday, July 22 from 2-3 p.m. ET, in partnership with NRI, the National Association of the State Mental Health Program Directors Research Institute.
