“I put myself last.”
“My work depletes me.”
“When we’re under the gun, I feel guilty about resting, or letting my team rest.”
“I know my stress affects my team but I don’t know how to cope.”
These narratives pervade our workplaces, and many of us are rightfully concerned about toxicity and stress depleting us of our energy. We can no longer assume that we can ‘yoga our way out’ of some of the most systemic workplace issues. Getting at the heart of these issues and being able to effectively measure our levels of burnout and professional fulfillment allows us to better evaluate and leverage potential solutions. This approach applies to one of the most touted solutions: Mindfulness.
