In furtherance of Live Well San Diego's vision of a region that is Building Better Health, Living Safely and Thriving, the Clinton Health Matters Initiative is partnering with the National Native Children's Trauma Center, Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians, ACEs Connection, The San Diego Foundation, and the County of San Diego, to increase positive outcomes and improve trust in systems providers for San Diego's Native American children and families.
The Strong Families, Thriving Communities coalition invites you to participate in a daylong training and action planning workshop, intended for both executives and front line staff of organizations that work with tribal families. In furtherance of the goals of trauma-informed, culturally-relevant services in Bold Action Steps #11 and #12 of the San Diego Blueprint for Action, the morning will consist of a training on trauma-informed care and resiliency specific to tribal families as well as the historical experience of Native Americans in San Diego. In the afternoon, organizational leaders and staff will engage in action planning activites to prioritize and plan steps within their respective organizations. It is recommended that agencies have leadership and frontline staff in attendance at the workshop.
