Every day, agency personnel, clinicians and social workers are tasked with helping individuals in planning for successful recovery to conquer their “problems”. When we frame the conversation from this deficits focus, it can result in client resistance, frustration, and unmet goals. Instead, person-centered, strengths-based planning supports collaborations, helps clients recognize their potential, identify and mobilize strengths and understand barriers to their goals. In this workshop, you will learn the concepts of surviving and thriving that are integral to helping clients create goals and improve recovery outcomes.
