This workshop is holistic, interactive, applied, and designed for those who want to incorporate mindfulness-based practices such as yoga and meditation into their daily lives in order to increase their own and/or their client’s ability to handle the ordinary and sometimes extraordinary stresses of daily life. We will dive deep into what trauma and resilience look like from scientific, psychological, and cultural perspectives, explore some of the origins and impacts of trauma and learn immediately applicable, positively impactful yoga and mindfulness-based interventions to reduce stress and increase focus, attention and a sense of well-being.
This course will cover:
Trauma & Resilience defined and explored
Neurobiology of stress, trauma, and resilience
Effects of trauma on the body and mind
Environmental, Social, Cultural and Psychological elements
Recognizing and working with the effects of trauma
Resilience-Focused Trauma-Informed practices for mindfulness/movement-based interventions
Resilience-building factors and practices
Self-Care
