This meeting will explore the application of Transdisciplinary collaboration, across mandates and practice contexts, together with youths and families, in response to trauma and violence.
Transdisciplinary approaches build on the fact that complex issues, like trauma and violence, cannot be understood or addressed from a singular perspective. Each discipline brings something that complements and in some cases, overlaps with the helpfulness of others. Integral to transdisciplinary work is mutual respect for the mandates of each partner organization, and, resulting collaborations in which the whole is much more than the sum of the parts. Each member sees themselves and their work reflected in the outcome. Youths, adults and families are lateral partners, owners of the process, genuinely consulted, and experience their lives and skills reflected in these collaborations. We hope to see you on May 3rd for this first meeting regarding ongoing, practice-based collaboration in response to trauma and violence.
