What is The Resilience Toolkit?
Stress is a simple fact of modern life. We experience it on a daily basis, yet we rarely examine what it is or how deeply stress affects every fiber of our lives. When we feel stressed, our bodies respond with physical changes to help us meet whatever challenge we face. The problems start when stressful events pile up one after another or are actually ongoing. Then we don’t return to baseline; instead, we stay chronically stressed out.
Resilience is commonly defined as the ability to recover from life’s challenges or bounce back when hard things happen. Chronic stress decreases resilience. Without a system for managing and mitigating stress, the slightest trigger can send us into a spiral of negative physical responses. Instead of bending and recovering, you break and shatter. As stresses continue to pile up, it becomes increasingly difficult to dig ourselves out.
The Resilience Toolkit consists of a suite of mindfulness and movement tools that help regulate the nervous system and reduce the negative and unwanted symptoms of stress.
