Health and Resilience: Growing a Trauma Informed Community

The long-term effects of trauma across the life span cannot be overestimated, often resulting in poor physical and mental health, addiction, and under-achievement. The cost to our community is enormous. Despite this, awareness among key community resources is significantly lacking.  In Salt Lake City, UT on October 15th, local and national experts will provide an educational symposium to mitigate this gap and facilitate dialogue on practical application of best practices in our community.  This free symposium represents a community-driven effort to educate and empower:

  • attorneys and judges
  • legislators and policy makers
  • law enforcement officers
  • school officials and educators
  • clinicians and  medical professionals
  • State and County officials

to intervene in the long-term, negative impact of violence, abuse, and resulting trauma.  The event will consist of morning lectures by nationally-recognized experts, followed by afternoon interactive sessions focused on applying these lessons to everyday practice and collaborative relationships.
