High cost of absenteeism and effects on other work force issues

Chris Soderquist, an expert with the Centers for Disease Control, will present on the high cost of adverse childhood experiences and how community strategies have the best chance of reducing their effects, according to an announcement.

Soderquist has developed a pilot tool he calls the Cost Savings Learning Lab, designed to engage communities in the discussion.

Business operators are invited to attend.

In Walla Walla County, nearly one in three people report having experienced emotional abuse growing up. Nearly 25 percent report having been sexually abused. Substance abuse, loss of a parent and mental illness and domestic violence are also commonly reported.
