This second annual statewide interdisciplinary conference features dozens of sessions on topics that include trauma-informed classrooms, bullying prevention, school-community partnerships, suicide prevention, mental-health screening, and school-based health clinics.
Keynote speakers include:
Dr. Robert Anda, co-founder of the CDC's ACE Study, who will do a presentation about using ACEs to connect a developmental lens to the health of society;
Dr. Gene Griffin, clinical psychologist, attorney and assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. Griffin will do a presentation on the impact trauma and stress can have on healthy brain development;
Erasing the Distance -- A group of actors that perform monologues based on true stories of those with mental health challenges.
Cost for the conference is $30. A bargain!
