Infant and Early Childhood Trauma: Core Concepts and Tools to Build Resilience

** NW Children's Fund is now offering live web streaming for this event, so more people can take part in the learning! If interested, please visit http://nwcf.org/events/forum**

NW Children's Fund, which works to end the cycle of child abuse and neglect in the greater Seattle area, is thrilled to welcome Chandra Ghosh Ippen, Ph.D., a leading expert in complex childhood trauma and its impact on very young children, to speak at its annual forum.

Using metaphors, visual aids and rich case studies, Dr. Ghosh Ippen will illustrate how everyone involved with a traumatized child – parents, caregivers, teachers, service providers, doctors, even police, legal advocates and others – must collaborate, using the best available science to support the recovery of the child. She will provide practical interventions and concrete tools in trauma-informed care as pathways to healing and resilience.

As a first-generation East Indian/Japanese American, Dr. Ghosh Ippen is committed to examining how culture affects perception and mental health systems. To learn more about the NWCF Forum, or to register for the event, visit http://nwcf.org/events/forum.
