The 2014 meeting in Miami will be the largest gathering of professionals dedicated to trauma treatment, education, research and prevention. More than 155 symposia, workshops, panel discussions, paper sessions, case studies and media presentations will be presented on a wide variety of topics related to traumatic stress. Describe childhood trauma and its short- and long-term effects for individuals, families, and communities.
Discuss various developmental pathways through which childhood trauma may lead to longer-term mental and physical health problems.
Formulate ways to engage individuals, families, and communities to prevent and treat the consequences of childhood trauma.
Special Spanish-language Track in 2014
The ISTSS Annual Meeting will also have presentations in Spanish, with simultaneous English translation, on a wide range of topics related to trauma and traumatic stress, in collaboration with Sociedad Argentina de Psicotrauma (SAPsi) and Sociedad EspaÑola de Psicotraumatología EstrÉs Traumático y Disociación (SEPET+D).
