La Maida Project Experiential Workshop: Stress & Regulation

To better understand the brain and how its innate physiology impacts our day-to- day behavior, this workshop explores bottom-up regulation, the stress response, how humans have evolved to thrive in reliable interdependent ecosystems, and meaning making. Self regulation skills and skills to develop relationships and community are emphasized in this mental health promoting workshop to address chronic stress and burnout.

This workshop is particularly suitable for individuals in social service or educational settings who are screening for ACEs or in the process of adopting trauma-responsive policies and practices. Please join us!

Meet the Facilitator

Marlene Padrรณn (she/her) is focused on high impact programming at the intersection of social justice and public health. She facilitates experiential educational sessions across the United States and Canada. Marlene has an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Marlene believes that art, community, and the collective experience of storytelling and meaning making provide a profound container for healing and connection.
