Laugh More Stress Less

Are you managing your stress or is stress managing you? Daily doses of diaphragmatic deep breathing exercises and Vitamin L (also known as laughter) counter the negative impact stress places on your body and mind.

Join Christa Scalies, Certified Yoga Teacher, Laughter Coach and Founder of Giggle On® on Tuesday August 12, 2014 at the Friends Center from 4:00 to 6:00 pm for an all levels interactive workshop designed to help you boost happy chemicals, oxygenate your body, clear your mind and lower stress hormones naturally. If you’ve been waiting for a fun workshop to spice up your summer, this is it!

Side note regarding contraindications: Hearty belly laughter is considered cardiovascular exercise. This workshop includes laughter yoga techniques and is contraindicated for people suffering from uncontrolled high blood pressure, people who have had surgery within the last 3 months, acute illness, internal bleeding, severe heart disease, epilepsy (or seizure disorders), any kind of hernia, severe backache or psychotic disorders.

Christa Scalies’ Bio: Christa Scalies is a laughter wellness professional, public speaker, yoga teacher, mental health advocate and author of the e-book, Suicide Sucks: Move through the pain of suicide loss and learn to laugh again. She was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and is a graduate of Temple University. Christa recently participated in the June 3, 2014 #IWillListen event at Love Park.
