The Illinois ACEs Response Collaborative is proud to present the webinar, "Making the Connections: Understanding the Impact of the Opioid Epidemic and the Implications for our Work."
Dr. Carole Warshaw, of the National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma, and Mental Health, and Gwendolyn Packard of the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center will discuss the intersection between opioid usage and intergenerational trauma.
Their webinar presentation will provide an overview of of the opioid epidemic in the context of trauma and domestic violence. Dr. Warshaw and Ms. Packard will summarize current research; discuss unique issues facing the people they work with, including the specific concerns of rural, tribal and other cultural communities; and will explore the impact on advocates and practitioners. Information provided is aimed at strengthening our response and building our capacity to address the opioid epidemic in our communities.
