Manifest Justice [Los Angeles, CA]

The events in Ferguson, New York and Baltimore have tested us. An adequate response to the senseless killing and daily injustices suffered by our sons, brothers, sisters and daughters seems elusive. Words can’t match the feelings. But throughout history, we’ve used art to explore our most painful traumas, our deepest hopes and the range of emotions between. It is how we, as human beings, process and heal from adversity so we can thrive. This week you have the opportunity to be a part of something extraordinary -- Manifest: Justice, an exhibit, community gathering, event series, and public awareness campaign designed to bring together and engage communities and artists around issues of social justice and human rights. I’m especially pleased to see artwork on display from each of the 14 communities.
