DIVERSITY, INCLUSION, & THE SCIENCE OF THE POSITIVE
Day Three - Wednesday, January 25, 2023 (Noon-1pm CST) - our speaker will be Dr. Briana Woods-Jaeger. Dr. Woods-Jaeger is a licensed clinical psychologist and associate professor of behavioral, social, and health education sciences at Emory University. Her research focuses on partnering with communities to reduce and eliminate health disparities associated with stress and trauma. Using a social-ecological framework and community-based participatory research approach her research has examined how social, cultural, and structural factors influence mental health and health risk behaviors among children and adolescents exposed to trauma and chronic stress; and the development and implementation of trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions to reduce health disparities.
Join us at the 2023 Montana Winter Institute for an hour each day online, January 23rd-27th, to hear from a diverse group of leaders and scientific researchers on topics at the intersection of diversity, inclusion and prevention. Those who register will have access to recordings of the presentations at the conclusion of the event. Register at: www.montanainstitute.com/mwi
The Montana Institute exists to inspire AHAs about the positive in the world by creating conditions for liberating and cultivating AHA! experiences that transform communities, workplaces, and individuals through The Science of the Positive. In addition to our ongoing scientific inquiry around the health impacts of Positive Childhood Experiences, we provide training and technical assistance to communities implementing Positive Community Norms as a way to increase protective factors and reduce harm (such as ACEs, child abuse and neglect, youth substance use, and many other areas of concern).
Registration is also now open for our annual Montana Summer Institute in-person in Big Sky, MT or livestreaming from anywhere you are, June 20-23, 2023. More information and link to register can be found at: https://www.montanainstitute.com/msi
