Schools don’t have a culture; schools are a culture!
Organizational culture is a powerful tool for teaching students the values and life skills needed to lead a successful life----one of caring, contribution and commitment. A school’s culture plays a profound role in how students think about learning; how students feel about the adults that teach and guide them; how youth interact with their peers, and, most important, how children understand themselves as individuals. Despite the tremendous influence a school’s culture has on everyone experiencing it, tools for designing, implementing, and maintaining a climate that promotes emotional safety, builds resilience, prioritizes equity, and ensures belonging for all can be difficult to identify and apply. In this workshop, participants will be exposed to and will design practical tools that create powerful, transformational school climates that are aligned with the values of belonging, equity, community, and hope.
