Hope for Healing, Attachment Training for Caregivers and Professionals.
Join us for our five-part, online Hope for Healing training conducted by Mary M McGowan, ATTACh Executive Director. Mary will lead an overview of attachment and attachment theory while also integrating the neuroscience of developmental trauma and the brain in addition to practical, hands-on approaches to parent, teach, or interact with children and youth suffering from attachment disorders.
Additionally, we will cover attachment across generations; attachment, developmental trauma, and the brain; loss and grieving; behavioral outcomes of developmental trauma, neglect, and early separations; attachment-focused parenting; and supporting children in the school system.
Our online webinars, conducted via Go to Webinar will be held on Tuesday evenings starting on March 7, 2017. Each session will be 90 minutes long.

Participants will be able to:
- Define attachment – both adult and child styles of attachment.
- Describe the inter-generational relationship of attachment styles. Identify personal triggers for anger / fear / rejection.
- Describe Window of Tolerance and arousal levels associated with survival mechanisms in the brain.
- Describe the losses felt by parents and children. Understand the relevance of grief in the lives of those affected by trauma and loss.
- Describe the behaviors associated with attachment difficulties and developmental trauma.
- List five strategies of attachment-focused parenting.
- Identify five strategies that are helpful for schools.
