Adverse Childhood Experiences and the Effect on Children’s Learning
This interactive workshop will focus on brain science, Adverse Childhood Experience Study, and resilience research. You will learn the prevalence and lifelong cost of adverse childhood experiences, the vital role of school culture in optimizing wellbeing, and how to use this research to create a compassionate classroom.

•Understand the six principles, three domains and partnership framework of compassionate schools.
•Understand the need for self-care in working with students impacted by trauma
•Learn practical strategies for working with students impacted by trauma
•Network with others to increase social emotional learning and supports in schools
Costs: Individuals $100; teams of 4 or more $80 per participant
