Once you have an understanding of trauma, how do you best connect and work with youth who have experienced it?
This 2-session online series offers practical tools for encouraging empathy, accountability, internal agency, and problem-solving skills in young people. It features practical information, activities, and conversation, and upon completion you will be ready to:
• Explain the brain’s response to stress, and why safety and connection are foundational to learning new skills.
•Demonstrate a variety of connected and firm responses for challenging child behaviors.
•Identify and practice strategies for joint problem-solving, repair, and making agreements with young people.
Clock hours are available through OSPI for Washington state.
Early Bird Registration is $75 through March 20.
The program fee of $95 includes the cost includes pre-class videos, a course workbook, and connection to peers who share your interest in helping all kids thrive. After the workshop, participants will have access to the workshop recording for two months.
