Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are associated with costly and debilitating health and social problems, such as homelessness. Restorative Integral Support (RIS), a new practice framework, combines knowledge of trauma, resilience, and recovery to facilitate approaches that serve the whole person. These approaches relate to public policy, program design and delivery, and community development.

This webinar will provide participants with an understanding of how to help at-risk individuals and families start RISing out of adversity and trauma through the mobilization of resilience and recovery.

By using the RIS framework in policy and practice, ACE-informed programs can be developed. These programs bring together best practices that address ACEs or ACE-related consequences, as well as other trauma, with intentionally developed healthy social networks.

Dr. Heather Larkin, assistant professor at the University at Albany–SUNY School of Social Work, presents this webinar. She co-developed the RIS model to help people recover from abuse, injury, and neglect.

The webinar takes place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, June 13.

The webinar is free for Alliance members, and $65 for non-members.
