The Trauma - Poverty Connection is the sixth of our Shared Prosperity Roundtables, where organizations and individuals who are interested in partnering in support of Shared Prosperity can come together to deepen our knowledge base, share ideas, and identify opportunities for greater collaboration. The roundtables have attracted audiences that include a broad range of service providers, as well as researchers, foundation representatives and low-income individuals.
Invited speakers include Dr. Roy Wade, Department of General Pediatrics (Childrenβs Hospital of Philadelphia) who will share some of his research findings on the link between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and poverty; and Diane Wagenhals of the Institute for Family Professionals (IFP), who will talk about the IFPβs work in training teachers, social workers and counselors to offer effective interventions drawn from the trauma informed care framework.
