As Kim Scott, the President and CEO of Trilliam Family Services points out in his recent blog post, the not-for-profit sector has reached a critical moment in an era of healthcare transformation. There is an increasing need for cross-sector solutions to our biggest social challenges. This means that organizations working in isolation leave themselves at risk for losing connection with the communities they intend to serve. For this reason, not-for-profits must take control of the narratives that define our sector to show we are able to tackle deep-rooted social problems and provide broad community healing.
The stakes are high, but the potential for revolutionizing the not-for-profit sector is unprecedented. By prioritizing cross-sector collaboration, innovation, and learning, not-for-profits can begin to effect change from within communities rather than attempting to act upon them.
That’s why on August 24 at 3pm PT, Wendy Ellis will join representatives from across the sector to explore the concept of Social Impact Organizations. You can join virtually through the livestream from your desktop or mobile device.
Mark your calendar to hear a robust discussion on how we can join together to co-create a national framework for what we at MHCU refer to as Building Community Resilience. Participants include representatives from:
- Sanctuary Institute
- People’s Institute Northwest
- Metropolitan Group
- Foundation for Excellence in Mental Health Care
Sheila Hamilton, Emmy Award winning journalist, Radio Personality and Author of “All The Things We Never Knew: Chasing The Chaos of Mental Illness” will moderate.
