Storiez: Trauma Narratives with Inner City Youth

Every person has a story. Embodied in every story are narratives of pain and suffering as well as narratives of strength and resilience. The Storiez intervention guides therapists through the process of helping inner city youth tell their stories. Participants in this seminar will learn each of the nine steps in the Storiez intervention. They will also learn ways to provide culturally sensitive, client-centered, strengths-based trauma treatment to this specific population. Written and audio examples of real trauma narratives will be presented and analyzed, and an interactive activity will be introduced.
