With more than 100 children and teenagers being brought into a hospital emergency room in Massachusetts on any given day, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services partnered with Youth Villages to address their mental health crisis.
During this presentation, Youth Villages and the Massachusetts Hospital Association will provide the landscape of the mental health crisis prior to their partnership and share how an intensive in-home mental health program, Intercept, has provided an alternative to kids and teens boarding in emergency rooms for days or weeks.
Attendees will also hear success stories of families and youth, lessons learned in the first year of this partnership, and strategies for Congress to consider for supporting states with expanding intensive in-home services.
Presenters:
Matthew Stone, Youth Villages Massachusetts
Doga Keith, Youth Villages Massachusetts
Leigh Simons Youmans, Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association
