This is Poetry for Personal Power’s second year hosting the three day conference on Health Futurism: Scaling up Patient-Led Healthcare Innovations. This is a three day event bridging silos between entrepreneurs, Ex-Patients and Recovery Movement Advocates.
Behavioral health = Community Level Resilience will be featured at many of the sessions. Our vision of Health Futurism is reducing health costs while creating economic opportunity for entrepreneurs interested in the recovery movement.
What is Health Futurism?
HealthFuturism – Increasing health equity with patient and community-led scalable business models by creating entrepreneurial ecosystems which support solutions created in marginalized and oppressed communities.
The HealthFuturism Conference is a breeding ground for innovation, a space of visibility for people of color working in healthcare, and a way to gather our community. During this conference, we will have speakers and sessions where attendees can connect with organizations and one another to answer questions such as:
- Who are E-patients? Who is the Recovery Movement? How can they be engaged and supported?
- How do we address the lack of minority representation within healthcare? (including race/gender/differently-abled/etc with intersectionality).
- How can artist/advocates sustainably create/innovate? How can they be heard?
- How do artist/advocates collaborate with the traditional medical sector?
- What are the possible funding mechanisms for patient-led innovations?
- How do we scale up these business models?
- What are other non-traditional routes for treatment of various medical conditions?
- What groups exist that help with my specific issue, or how can I start one?
